A Taco Truck Thank You!

The 2012-2013 Hillview Student Government made its first big decision....how to thank the many, many, many people who helped manage and build this beautiful new school??!? Well, how about a Taco Truck Thank You Party!

Hillview's executive board led by Aurora, Helen, Jack, and Beth, filled out Hillview blue thank you cards which also acted as a free lunch ticket for every construction worker. From noon-2pm today, everyone took a break to enjoy the delicious tacos from El Tonayense Taco Truck who drove from the Mission District and pulled right up to Hillview's front entrance!

In a joint effort with the student government, many of Hillview's staff also showed their gratitude towards this hardworking crew by donating to the taco truck fund. In addition to the construction crew and team leaders Brenda, Kimberly, and Ahmad, the staff and students wanted to also express a special thank you to our wonderful custodial staff who have been working tirelessly to clean and prepare our school.

Our student government is often asked to speak and represent the student body. Today, they shouted a loud and resounding "THANK YOU!" for helping build this incredible place.

While we can't thank you enough, we hope that today's taco truck lunch was a fun way to show our appreciation for all that you have done.

Grand Opening Ceremony

"Welcome to your new school!"

The ribbon has been cut, the balloons dropped, and the school has been officially opened! While the first day of school is still a few days away....students, current and former HV families, and even just some interested community spectators came to check out our 21st century school and beautiful campus.

Hillview's Student Government Executive Board gave tours and helped with the PTO bake sale during this momentous event.  Thank you to everyone who made this school possible. Are you ready to return to school on Tuesday???

Coming together is a beginning...

Saying Goodbye...
Get ready Hillview Hawks...the new campus is almost ready for the most important piece. YOU!

Henry Ford once said, Coming together is a beginning; keeping together is progress; working together is success.

Your student government is already working together, getting ready to welcome you back to school. What are they up to this summer?

Your president, Aurora, and members of your executive student council, Alexa, Helen, and Joey, attended leadership camp in Santa Barbara with hundreds of other middle school leaders from around the country.
