The Winning ASB Shirt Design!
Congrats to 8th grader Nikita who submitted this year's winning ASB spirit shirt design! All students who ordered an ASB card will be getting their spirit shirt sometime in October. Shirts will include this design on the back as well as the quotation "No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted." on the front. Shirts will come in 3-colors depending on your grade level: 6th (Blue), 7th (Yellow), and 8th (White).
Thanks to all those who participated in this year's spirit shirt design challenge!

ASB welcomes new students!
Hillview's student council set-up, decorated, and served the new students by scooping and "topping" off for each new student. This was followed by a social gathering where students swapped stories about Hillview and the year ahead.
From ASB and all of the Menlo Park City School District community.....WELCOME NEW STUDENTS!!!
The New "MOE" Hawk Mascot
Introducing..."MOE" Hawk! A gift from the classes of 2007-2011, our new mascot is ready to rock (and dance!) at all of our school events. What do you think of the new look?

Color Team Competition returns to GRADE levels!
It is we great excitement that your ASB present to you the 2013-2014 ASB Spirit Competition! We ask that you take a minute to review this blog and soak in the changes.
2013-2014 ASB Spirit Competition!
This year's theme is "Ready to Rock!" and this year's spirit competition is putting the power back in the hands of each grade level! That's right…this year, the GRADE LEVELS will be on the same team and facing off against each other….. 6th vs 7th vs. 8th!
The 6th Grade Academies (BLUE Team): Olympus, Vesuvius, Everest
vs
The 7th Grade Academies (Yellow Team): Chichen-Itza, Tikal, Caracol
vs
The 8th Grade Academies (WHITE Team): Pioneers, Explorers, Trailblazers
Why the change? We feel this change…or change back... will bring about more spirit and camaraderie from the student body. ASB will also continue to reward participation as we did at last year's Hawkapalooza. Most importantly, we will continue Academy competitions for extra rewards and privileges.
Get Pumped! Get Involved! Get Ready to Rock!
What do we have planned so far?
- Grade-Level Lunch Competitions on select Fridays
- Second Harvest Canned Food Drive competition in November/December
- Toy Drive Competition in the Spring
- Spirit Fridays (based on percentages of dressed-up students)
- Spirit Week Dress-up competitions at Lunch
- Costume Contest at Halloween
- Spirit Rally Competitions
- (coming soon) Grade-Level and Academy Challenges issued on HawkTalk/Website for you to download and play if so choose (QU3ST, Lunch, etc.)
- Hawkapalooza 2014: More Hawk, More Palooza
- And more!
Pretty much everything else about our competition has stayed the same! Spirit points will be awarded and updated on our website. We will always strive to reward participation first when appropriate, but will sometimes also reward victories in competitions. Each "major" competition such as the food and toy drives will come with its own set of rules e-mailed ahead of time. Keep it fun, keep it fair…our top priorities.
Which grade level will be taking the day off and chillin' out at Raging Waters? Which class has what it takes to win?
