Halloween Egg Hunt

Hey hawks, on Wednesday October 31st (Halloween), we will be having an egg hunt around the school. Hidden student around the school will have a designated number of eggs that they can give out, so watch out because they may run out. To get an egg, approach the student with the correct phrase from the clue-sheet behind the stage at lunch. These eggs can be exchanged for Moe-Money during open session (with the teachers permission) or at G3 directly after school. Beware though, there may be more than one person in the same costume!

Halloween Costume Contest

This Wednesday (October 31st) there will be a costume contest on the stage at lunch. There will be three categories: Spooky, Creative (Includes DIY), and group costumes. The winners chosen by our guest judges will take a picture together and it will be posted to Hillviewasb.com. Have fun! May the odds ever be in your favor.

Halloween Cupcake Contest

On Halloween (October 31st) we are having a cupcake contest! If you want to participate, bring your cupcakes in on Wednesday morning to the kitchen. Your cupcakes will be judged on three things: Relevance to theme (the theme is Halloween), creativity, and taste. The top three contestants will get a ribbon along with 10 spirit points for first place, 6 points for second place, and 3 points for third place. You must bring three cupcakes to enter. • Canned tuna, chicken or salmon
• Peanut butter
• Meal in a can (stew, soup, chili)
• Low-sodium canned vegetables
• Canned fruit in its own juice or water
• Olive or canola oil
• Spices (cinnamon, chili powder, cumin, salt-free spice blends)
• Canned foods with pop-top lids
• Low-sugar whole grain cereals
• Healthy snacks (granola bars, nuts, dried fruits)

Please avoid items packed in glass. No candy or sugar-sweetened drinks.

This list of foods are items needed for the Second Harvest Canned Food Drive happening here at Hillview from Oct. 15 to Nov. 1. Our goal this year is 3,500 cans total or more. You can see this list on the second harvest food bank website. So remember to share what you CAN hawks!
